Dates and Treats

sssiiiiiggggghhhh.
this weekend was wonderful.
The weather allowed for a weekend full of fun, friends, shopping, snack dates and even a little pampering for me!
Me and Shayne met some of our favorite people Brittany Jaxon and Abbie at Coldstone for an ice cream date Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately by the time me and Shayne got there, the others were done with their ice cream and the line was crazy long. But atleast we got some cute pictures and had a little fun outside!
Of course I had already promised little miss some ice cream,
so we got our fix in the Sonic drive thru..MUCH shorter line !

they are so fun together.
Sunday's are ALWAYS my favorite day of the week.
Church is a favorite of everyone in our family. Shayne loves going to play with her friends and sometimes even comes home telling me stories of Jesus...which is pretty impressive for a two year old! She even associates crosses with Jesus. So happy she's starting her relationship with God at such a young age. And Sunday is always a day we spend with Megan and Taylor...
who are Shayne's favorite people ever.
I think she prefers them to me and Michael sometimes. But thats ok...they love her lots too!

This Sunday after church we went and had lunch with Megan and Taylor .... then Michael, Taylor & Michael R. went to play disc golf ( can i add that there were40 mph wind gusts ?! Crazy men ) So of course us girls took it upon ourselfs to try out the new frozen yogurt place by Megs house...and it did NOT dissapoint!!

SO fun!

Showing MayMay all the candy in her ice cream. Please excuse her manners. Sometimes you just gotta get a little dirty haha.

Megans Shaynes Mine
( i know...your mouth is watering right now. )

We always seem to make a Sunday trip to Target. Never fails. Shayne actually thinks that Megan LIVES at Target.
And we can never get threw the doors without Shayne asking for her "target drink" which is just Sprite and Hi-C.

(the proof)
People seem to find my kid really funny. I guess I dont notice how nuts she can really be because I'm around her so often. But even this made me laugh.

This is in the lawn & garden section. Me and Megan found her doing this while we were looking at patio furniture. She was reading this pamphlet...and pretending to nap. ! She IS pretty entertaining i guess haha.

And finally, after the boys got done playing disc golf...

(they lost 3 discs in that game..suprised?? i wasnt either. )

they took the kiddos and me and Britt got to go get a pedicure...a RARE and much needed treat! I'm pretty sure we deserved it ... and it was as much fun and relaxing as it sounds. Thanks Britt for going with me and keeping me company!

(YAY!)

So greatful for so many friends and family to keep our weekends fun and full of adventure !

Sunday Funday

How can you NOT love spring weather? Honestly?
Even if you LIVE for the cold or LOVE the heat, i whole heartedly feel that spring is a season for everyone.
And because the weather was so amazing, we decided to take a trip to the park after church!
I'm sure that doesnt sound very exciting to most, but to a two year old, the park is Heaven.
Especially, MY two year old.
(heres some pics to proove it!)

It's an awesome feeling to see your child so happy. We sure do love her.

And ok, I admit it, we had fun at the park too.

I think Michael might have had more fun than ANY of us.

Shayne found these little stumps, there were three of them, and they fascinated her. She made us all take turns standing on all three of them. In a certain order (that only she knows!). Man am I in trouble. Such an oppinionated little girl! Seriously, if you know Shayne you know what I'm talking about. She has a mind of her own, and lucky for me she's very good at TELLING me what it is she's thinking..otherwise I'd totally be lost!

On our way out of the park, Michael decided he needed to teach us girls how to play frisbee golf. Convenient how he just happened to have some disks in the car huh?! I wasn't too excited about this idea at first. Mainly because "athletics" arent my strong suit and there were lots of people around. So we found a hole that was off to the side so nobody could see us (thanks sweet husband) and threw a couple disks. I didnt realize how hard you had to throw those things! But turns out I'm not half bad! And Shayne LOVED it. She spent the whole time throwing disk after disk yelling "Oh I missed it". Atleast she's not a sore loser haha.

Michael was much better than us. Atleast Shayne made it in the basket!

I'm so thankful to be able to spend time like this with my little family. It's strange to think that Michael used to miss out on so much in our everyday lives. And that someday he may have to leave us again for longer than most dads/husbands do. Me and Shayne are so blessed to have such an awesome dad / husband in our lives. He truly enjoys all the little things that life has to offer.

All in all it was an amazing Sunday! An amazing weekend! We're ready for the rest of spring and all the fun summer is going to bring!

Good things come to those who wait

IT. IS. AMAZING.

Emily Martin...you are awesome >

i am sooo happy to have a blog back.

i see no better way to start off than a post about my third most favorite holiday..
<3>
(valentines outfits are so much FuN!)

this years Valentines day was so very awesome.

it started off just a regular day at work...until my beautiful little girl interupted
my class with a handwritten card and a single rose
(all orchestrated by my sweet husband)

best present i could ask for. i love my little valentine.
and the day only got better.

Shayne's wonderful MayMay (otherwise known as my sister Megan) babysat Shayne so that me and Michael could have an adult date night to ourselves. The funny thing is that even though we had a great time together..alone..we missed our little girl so much!

Dinner at Bonzai. Yummy!

then a walk threw the park, some Louis -m- Martin, a blanket, chocolate & alone time <3
all in all it was a fantastic Valentines Day. I am so blessed to have so many people in my life who love me...and so many people to love on.

Lately I've been reading. A lot.

Right now I'm reading Love and War by John & Staci Eldredge. Which seems appropriate considering February is all about the love <3.>

Here's a certain section that i wanted to share.

Without you, your spouse will not become the man or the woman that God intends him or her to be and the Kingdom of God will not advance as it is meant to advance. Your spouse plays the most vital role in your life. You play the most critical role in your spouse's life. No one will have a greater impact on your spouse's soul than you. No one has greater access to your spouse's heart than you. This is an enormous honor.

I hope this does something for your heart.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY LOVES!
